Now that the intense summer heat is slowly (finally!!) leaving us, I thought I’d make a little throwback and share one of my favorite places with you which I discovered back in the beginning of sunny spring during a day out hiking.
About Collserola Natural Park
Collserola Park is a natural park located in the Collserola mountain range, in the outskirts of Barcelona, where the highest point is 516 meters high. It’s the largest metropolitan park in the world, where Barcelona locals often go to walk, run, bike or just take a breath in the green, away from the busy life in the city.
The views
The hiking trails
There are many hiking trails in the area. Since I was arriving with the metro, I took the one starting near the Mundet metro station. Once at Mundet, follow the signs for UB’s Psychology Department, climb up to the school and take the road behind it.

How to get there
Depending on where you want to start the hike, there are many ways to get there.
By metro
If you wanna get there by metro from the city center, then you should take the metro until Mundet (L3 – green line), which I think is the closest metro station.
Funicular de Vallvidrera
For a beautiful ride up to the Collserola Tower, take the FGC train from Plaça Catalunya station until Baixador de Vallvidrera. Once there, get on the funicular and enjoy the views!

Some FGC (ferrocarrils) train stations where you can start the hike are La Floresta and Les Planes.
Don’t forget to take comfy clothes, lots of sunscreen and some food to enjoy a picnic with a view… and have fun!
