A few months ago I officially joined the “coworking movement” – and it has really improved my life! Before that, it was a bit harder for me to find the perfect space to work in Barcelona. I used to work a lot in cafes where I could find good coffee, good wifi and a pleasant atmosphere, so I will share some of those with you too in case you’re not ready to sign up for a coworking space yet or you only need to work outside just for a few hours.

1. Sowo Coworking
Sowo is a beautiful, bright space which is definitely interior design goals. I have to admit every time I’m there, I wish it was my apartment! Apart from the perfect esthetic side, for me this is a great space to work in Barelona because it has so much space and different rooms, such as a room for creativity and brainstorming and a phone call booth. Plus, have I mentioned how pretty it is?
2. CREC Coworking
CREC has two spatious locations in the city center: one on Gran Via and another one in Poble Sec. Practical and comfortable, CREC has everything you need to have a productive workday. My favorite features about CREC are definitely the high-speed internet and their long hours – it’s open from Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 9 PM.
3. Imagin Cafe
Right next to Plaza Cataluña, Imagin Cafe is a free space to work and let your creativity flow. Yes, that means they have a lot of space where you can sit even if you don’t purchase anything and enjoy high-speed wifi. They have events happening all the time where you can learn, connect and even showcase your work. On the downside, this also means that, sometimes, the working area is closed when there are events happening. You can also find a coffee space with very reasonably priced coffee and sandwiches.
4. Jungle Coworking
I love the decoration at Jungle Coworking, which will make you feel like you’re somewhere in the wild in Bali. I know, at this point you might be thinking: do you go to coworkings fufill your Pinterest interior dreams or do you actually work? I do both, okay? Jungle Coworking also has a photography studio available to rent, and its friendly owner is also a talented photographer.
5. Bohl
This minimalistic, Japanese-inspired space serves delicious wholesome food in a very centric location and very cozy yet quiet atmosphere. You can be certain you can focus here after a good cup of coffee and one of their fantastic sweet or savory bowls!
6. Alsur Backdoor Cafe
Located in charming El Born, at Alsur Backdoor Cafe you will find a good variety of tasty food all day long in an attractive decor that offers a great place for working on your laptop or having an informal meeting!
7. B Sandwiches
Delicious sandwiches and food in a clean, modern decor. I love the fact the space is very bright (which I have come to realize is so important for me in order to have a long and productive day). The staff is super friendly, the food is delicious and you can be certain you’ll find a spot to sit down and work.
8. FabCafe
My first impression when I first went to FabCafe was that creativity was flowing all over the place there! Apart from the café area where you can sit and work while enjoying a cup of coffee, they also have a coworking area for members only. One of the coolest features is the 3D printer that welcomes you at the entrance of the café!
9. La Esquina Kitchen & Coffee
Another very centric spot, La Esquina is a great alternative to sitting at a Starbucks (or even worse) when you’re on the go near Plaza Cataluña. The decor is cozy with a touch of chic, and their dishes are a great excuse for a good brunch that will give you the energy you need before you start grinding.
10. Coco Coffice
This very interesting space defines itself as a “coffice” – a café and an office, and that’s exactly what you were looking for, right? Beautiful, bright spaces with some touches of color here and there. I love the fact they offer specialty coffee, because let’s be honest – the only thing I miss when working at a coworking space is some actually good coffee!
